Senior Business Data Analyst
About this opportunity:
GoEngineer is a provider of the most compelling design platforms in the industry, deploying engineering software and 3D Printing technology to make the design process innovative, efficient, and intelligent.
GoEngineer is looking for a Business Data Analyst to join our team. The Business Data Analyst focuses on turning trusted, centralized data into actionable business insights that help leaders make better decisions. The ideal candidate will bring strong Power BI expertise, solid business analytics thinking, and the ability to work directly with stakeholders to shape requests into meaningful dashboards, KPIs, and outcome-driven reporting. In this role, you will help expand how GoEngineer uses analytics across the business, with an emphasis on innovation, accessibility, and practical impact.
Your key contributions in this role will be:
Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and visualizations that present business performance in a clear, actionable way.
Partner with leaders across the company to translate requests into analytics solutions tied to measurable business outcomes.
Define trusted calculations, measurements, and KPI frameworks that support stronger business decision-making.
Help make data easier to use across the organization through tools such as Power BI, Excel, and AI-enabled insights experiences.
Explore new approaches, emerging technology, and modern analytics capabilities that improve how teams interact with data.
Analyze centralized datasets to identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and areas for deeper business investigation.
Support the evolution of reporting beyond descriptive analytics by helping shape more forward-looking and action-oriented insights.
Work closely with the data engineering team and business stakeholders to ensure analytics solutions are aligned with trusted source data and real operational needs.
We are looking for candidates with the below experience and skills, however, even if you do not meet all the listed requirements, very interested candidates should still apply:
Proven experience in a business data analyst, business analyst, or similar analytics-focused role.
Strong hands-on experience with Power BI. This is a core requirement for the role.
Experience working with SQL, Excel, and business data visualization to support reporting and analysis.
Experience working with enterprise data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, SQL Server) and strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, including source systems, transformations, fact/dimension structures, and data lineage.
Demonstrated ability to work with business leaders or managers to gather requirements and turn them into practical, data-driven solutions.
Strong business analytics mindset, including the ability to connect reporting requests to KPIs, outcomes, and decision-making needs.
Comfortable working independently, leading with initiative, and operating effectively with minimal supervision.
Experience matters more than a specific degree; candidates with relevant hands-on background are encouraged to apply.
Ability to clearly explain past analytics projects, including data sources, modeling choices, KPIs, and business impact. Comfort presenting dashboards and analytical approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and experience defending design decisions.
Strong understanding of data engineering; ability to partner effectively with data engineering teams and understand the technical complexity behind enterprise datasets.
Strong interest in and openness to AI-enabled analytics is critical for success in this role. The team is actively investing in AI-driven insights, automation, and modern analytics workflows. Experience leveraging AI-assisted analytics tools (Power BI Copilot, Azure AI, generative AI for analysis, or similar) is highly desired.
