Overview of Job Opportunity:
We are looking for a detail-oriented, highly creative Post-Production & Social Media Content Specialist to support GoEngineer’s growing video initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who loves shaping raw content into compelling final deliverables for all the different platforms, thrives in fast-paced digital environments, and enjoys the intersection of editing, storytelling, and social media strategy.
This is primarily a post-production role with an emphasis on video and photo editing, repurposing content, social scheduling, analytics, and thumbnail creation. This position is primarily working in tandem with senior videographer to help support our large editing workload and social scheduling.
Your key contributions in this role will be:
Video Editing & Post-Production (Primary)
- Edit raw 4K footage in Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition to produce polished, professional final videos.
- Transform long-form interviews, webinars, training sessions, and technical footage into clear, engaging content — even without prior subject knowledge.
- Organize media efficiently and build clean project sequences that align with footage types, aspect ratios, and required export settings.
- Identify key moments within long-form content and repurpose them into multiple short-form stand-alone videos with strong hooks and high retention.
- Add final polish to videos created by internal engineers, including smoothing edits, refining pacing, cleaning audio, and improving visual clarity.
- Maintain consistent file structures, naming conventions, and proxy workflows to support multi-editor collaboration and prevent project confusion.
- Work confidently with footage you did not shoot and without full context or product knowledge, using intuition to shape cohesive narratives.
- Create engaging hooks, tighten pacing, and build edits optimized for viewer retention across social platforms.
- Design clean lower-thirds and simple text or motion graphics using templates and brand-aligned typography and color standards.
- Perform basic color correction to ensure balanced, cohesive, natural-looking footage across all clips and scenes.
- Apply appropriate sequence and export settings for YouTube, Reels, Shorts, TikTok, and long-form content.
- Add and balance music/SFX thoughtfully and only when necessary to support pacing while maintaining clear, consistent audio levels.
- Clean and enhance poor audio using noise reduction, EQ, and loudness normalization to achieve high-quality voice clarity.
- Edit videos with platform safe zones in mind, ensuring key visuals and text aren’t covered by captions, buttons, or interface elements on TikTok, Reels, or Shorts.
Social Media Strategy & Management
- Schedule content across multiple platforms (YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and work with team to have a consistent posting calendar.
- Generate platform-specific content variants optimized for short attention spans.
- Work with team to track performance analytics and use insights to adjust posting strategies.
- Help identify top-performing themes and formats to help guide future content.
Thumbnail Design & Visual Optimization
- Create high-quality, click-driving YouTube thumbnails aligned with brand standards.
- Develop strong visual instincts for image composition, typography, and storytelling through static visuals.
Photo Editing
- Use Lightroom Classic to perform color correction, exposure balancing, and retouching of professional headshots along with other company photos in large batches.
- Good instincts on how to make adjustments in order to get the best results.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with the marketing team, including senior lead videographer and application engineers.
- Accept and integrate constructive feedback with a positive, team-oriented mindset.
- Understanding that we are an evolving team and responsibilities may shift along with processes.
- Communicate clearly with team members on timelines, progress, and workload.
- Comfortable editing projects started by others and handing off projects mid-stream when needed.

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and skills, however, even if you do not meet all the listed requirements, very interested candidates should still apply:
Core Experience & Technical Skills
- 2–3+ years of experience in video editing, post-production, or social content creation.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition, with the ability to perform color correction, reframing, audio cleanup, and basic motion graphics.
- Strong understanding of editing for social platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn), including pacing, hooks, retention tactics, and platform safe zones.
- Ability to repurpose long-form content into short-form clips, identifying compelling moments quickly and structuring them into standalone videos.
- Working knowledge of Lightroom Classic for color correction and batch photo editing.
- Comfort with creating simple titles, lower-thirds, and graphic elements using templates and brand-aligned visual styles.
- Experience organizing media, managing shared project structures, and maintaining consistent naming conventions for team workflows.
- Knowledge of export formats for a range of social platforms and the ability to match sequence settings to footage type and delivery requirements.
Editing & Storytelling Skills
- Strong storytelling instincts, especially when working with technical or unfamiliar subject matter.
- Excellent sense of pacing, timing, rhythm, and visual clarity across both long-form and short-form content.
- Ability to work with footage you didn’t shoot, crafting cohesive narratives and refining edits independently with minimal direction.
- Audio editing proficiency, including noise reduction, EQ, and loudness normalization for high-quality dialogue.
Social Media & Performance Awareness
- Understanding of platform algorithms, viewer behavior, and target audience to support high-retention, high-engagement edits.
- Ability to interpret basic analytics and collaborate on strategy adjustments based on performance insights.
- Experience creating platform-specific variations of content for multi-channel distribution.
Collaboration & Workflow
- Comfortable working within shared Adobe project workflows, including proxies and multi-editor environments.
- Strong communication skills, able to clearly share timelines, progress, and needs with the team.

- Skills in other Adobe programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Marketing automation (HubSpot) and CRM (NetSuite) familiarity.
- Background in engineering/manufacturing or technical products.
- HTML/CSS web experience, specifically in Bootstrap.
- Shopify ecommerce experience.
- Demonstrated results in digital marketing with strengths in web page UX, lead‑form UX, and eCommerce.
- Experience in driving B2B/B2C demand through web and form optimization.
- Working knowledge of Google Ads and paid social fundamentals; understands SEO/SEM best practices.
- Basic HTML/CSS for minor tweaks (no heavy front-end development).
- Clear communicator with analytical mindset; comfortable presenting insights and next steps.
