Application Engineer - CAM Post Application Engineer

As one of our CAM Post Application Engineers, your primary role will be to create and modify CAM post processors. Additionally, you may be involved in customer support, training and mentoring, technical sales presentations, and marketing content creation.
Utilize your knowledge of CNC programming and machining experience to support and develop the CAM initiatives of GoEngineer’s customers. You will provide multi-faceted CAM solutions that work within both the SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE platforms.
Integration in these platforms means that you will develop and maintain a broad set of skills that include Design, Manufacturing, and Governance.
CAM solutions at GoEngineer include CAMWorks, SOLIDWORKS CAM and DELMIA CAM.

Your key contributions in this role will be:
- Create and modify CAM post processors for all supported CNC machines and controllers
- Customize existing post processors to meet new customer requirements
- Provide documentation/instructions on possible techniques the customer may use to drive optional equipment and support for the customer-chosen technique
- Troubleshoot root cause of technical support issues that may relate to post processors
- Conduct technical training onsite, online, or in a classroom setting
- Demonstrate software capabilities and limitations to prospects and customers in front of a live audience and/or via web meetings
- Support Sales Team with product knowledge, solution strategy and correspondence
- Create marketing content (i.e. videos, blogs, webinars) showing software features and capabilities.
- Obtain and maintain industry certifications (e.g. CSWP, VAR certifications)
- Required to attend occasional tradeshows, occasional customer onsite visits, all equaling occasional travel (less than 20% of total time)
We are looking for candidates with the below experience and skills, however, even if you do not meet every single the listed requirements, very interested candidates with comparable skills or experience should still apply:
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC machining and their codes (G-code and conversational)
- CAMWorks or similar CAM system experience preferred
- SOLIDWORKS experience preferred
- Knowledge of other manufacturing processes a plus (e.g. wire EDM, routing, waterjet, laser)
- Strong problem-solving skills; Self-starter
- Knowledge of programming language(s)
- CAMWorks-specific environment preferred
- C++ or Visual Basic
- Demonstrated experience evaluating and specifying CNC post output oriented towards safety of both operators and equipment
- Knowledge and experience in Engineering and Product Development processes and environments.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills. Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of colleagues and management, including an ability to mentor other team members
- 5 to 7 years of professional work experience in CNC programming, including a minimum 2.5 Axis or 3 Axis
- Fixturing and tooling experience preferred
- Multi-axis and mill-turn experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create functional CNC post processors
- Experience working with end users in the job shop and manufacturing floor environment
- Associates or Bachelors in a manufacturing or engineering field, or work experience equating to similar experience
Competitive Compensation Includes:
This is a remote, US-based position. We have offices in Salt Lake City, UT, Eden Prairie, MN, and Pleasant Ridge, MI that can accommodate hybrid or fully in person work preference, as well.
Full-time, Monday - Friday, with some travel required (less than 20%).
Pay range is based on skills and experience, starting at $70,000 - $85,000, plus multiple bonus opportunities, and the generous benefits highlighted below.
